/ About the project
"Manque pas le virage" holds a special place in my heart, stemming from my hometown ski resort's decision to embrace technology in early 2024. Tasked by Mathieu Desmarais and his marketing team, I was challenged to create a tutorial that would introduce the resort’s new technology. The initial references were uninspiring, leading me to propose a more dynamic approach with a focus on storytelling.
I developed two characters to drive the narrative: a tech-savvy little girl who embraces the new changes, and her grandfather, a stubborn man set in his old ways, resistant to change. This generational contrast not only injected humor into the tutorials but also effectively communicated essential information in an educational yet entertaining format.
As the creative director, knowing my limitations in time and patience for animation, I collaborated with Nordik Studio. Together, we developed and animated the characters. My role extended beyond character conception; I crafted the script, storyboarded creating references with my girlfriend, recorded and altered the voiceovers with pitch shifters, and created all the background plates using Mid Journey.
This project resulted in a series of animated shorts that revolutionized the traditional tutorial format, diving deep into storytelling to engage viewers fully and informatively.
